  • Michigan Dream is a folk opera depicting the rough and ready logging days of the Grand River Valley in the 1870's. This original production produced by faculty and students of Michigan State was presented on the campus in May, 1955 as part of the Centennial Celebration commemorating Michigan State's 100th Anniversary. Two of the more popular songs from the opera are those presented on this recording, Michigan Morn and The Ox-driving Song. Original music for the opera was composed by H. Reed Owen of the Michigan State music faculty.
