Review by katie he

Nappy Brown's album, The Right Time Oh You Don't Know, is a timeless classic that showcases his powerful voice and soulful delivery. Released in 1957, the album features a blend of blues, R&B, and rock and roll, highlighting Brown's versatility and musical range.

The album's title track, "The Right Time," is a slow-burning blues number that highlights Brown's ability to convey raw emotion through his vocals. "Pitter Patter" is an upbeat, danceable track that showcases Brown's playful side, while "It Don't Hurt No More" is a heart-wrenching ballad that pulls at the listener's heartstrings.

God, this makes me feel feelings. Just the way he puts everything he has into “BAAABY”. God.

First time I've heard this and it's now my favorite version. Ray Charles. Aretha Franklin and CCR all did excellent renditions, but this is heavy blues. Love it!

I love this, Nappy Brown sang this in the fifty. I had a chance to see him in 1958. Ray did it later. Nappy Brown was a good singer. This brings back memories ?.

This is great, glad YouTube recommended this!

My favorite version is still the Alexis Korner Blues Incorporated version though.

I absolutely love Ray's version, but GOOD GOD this cat sang his freakin' SOUL out! Talk about some heart-wrenching vocals! His opening line in the first verse and his emotion- filled "bay- bay's" gave me chills! Whoo wee!?? Now THAT'S what a man who's singing about being with his woman should sound like!!!
